INWOOD — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has accused 26-year-old Alexis Severson of Larchwood of an inappropriate relationship with a student. She was arrested this Friday.

Severson, is a 2017 Rock Valley High School graduate who was the head softball coach at West Lyon. She has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation by a school employee.

In her statement, the deputy says that Severson allegedly had a long-term sexual relationship with a student.

Severson faces three counts of sexual exploitation by a school employee and one count of grooming — all class D felonies. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison on each count.

She faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on November 20th.

Severson posted a signature bond and was released from the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids on the same day she was booked.
