SPENCER — The Ridge View girls wrestling team was anxious to get their season underway and display their talents on the mat. Ridge View invaded the Spencer Fieldhouse and took down Denison-Schleswig 48-24, as well as the host Tigers of Spencer is a tightly battled dual 42-36.

The 2-0 start is just what the coaching staff and wrestlers had been hoping for — get off to a successful start to the 2025-2026 season. While at the same time, find out what things on needed to be improved upon.

Against the Monarchs of Denison-Schleswig six head-to-head matchups were split right down the middle with three wins for each team. Ridge View’s Eden Ferrusca (110), Tegan Robertson (120) and Lynsee Ockerman (125) were winners for the Raptors.

There were six matches wrestled against Spencer with the host Tigers winning four. Robertson flips her personality into a Tasminian Devil on the mat, exhibiting no sympanthy to her opponent, wrestling with great ferocity for the win at 120. She canvassed her opponents shoulders winning by fall, and taking a 2-0 record home for her nights work.

Gracelyn Thompson earned the Raptors other win at 235 pounds by fall. It was also the 36-36 tie-breaker and who would win the dual.

The wins by Spencer came at 115, 140, 155, and 170.
