MANSON — The annual Doug Woods Invitational hosted by Manson -Northwest Webster was held Saturday with 10 schools from Northwest and Central Iowa competing for bragging rights.
MMCRU whose looking to build the once tradionally strong program back up by competing in a number of regular season tournaments got their initial taste Saturday with mixed reviews. As a team they finished ninth from a field of 10 schools.
Hupke Wrestling Production (HWP) Class 1A second ranked Woodbury Central run away with the team title amasssing 256.5 total points. Runner-up with 190.0 was Alta-Aurelia.
Competing with only eight wrestlers, the Royals placed five with Top-Six placefinishes individually.
