ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Drake women’s basketball losing streak continued on Saturday with a 70-50 loss on the road to St. Thomas.

The Bulldogs (1-8) have now lost eight straight games, last winning the season opener against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 3.

St. Thomas got out to a fast start and never looked back, taking a 23-10 lead into the second quarter. In the second frame, the Bulldogs were outscored 20-7 and went into the halftime break down 43-17. The Tommies led for over 38 minutes of the 40-minute contest, with Drake never really threatening after the second quarter.

Grace Knutson led Drake on the day with 16 points and 10 boards. Abbie Aalsma added 15 points and five rebounds and Maggie Taylor chipped in 11 points. The Bulldogs shot just 29.7% from the field and 20% from beyond the arc.
