Saturday, Feb. 7 marked the first time in a week Iowa State women’s basketball took the court for a game.

The Cyclones picked up right where they left off.

Five players scored in double figures as Iowa State picked up its fifth-straight win with a 79-72 victory over Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.

The Cyclones improved to 19-5 on the season and 7-5 in Big 12 play, kicking off a two-game road trip with a nice win.

Audi Crooks scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Point guard Jada Williams added 14 points and seven assists.

The Cyclones also got 12 points each from Arianna Jackson and Sydney Harris. Jackson scored six points during an 8-2 run in the second quarter that gave Iowa State a nine-point lead.

The lead slimmed down to six at halftime.

Everything changed in the third quarter. The Cyclones tallied 30 points in the 10-minute frame and used an 8-0 run to pull away.

Crooks, who had just two points in the first half, had 12 in the quarter alone. Harris connected on all four of her 3-pointers to total 12 points in the frame as well.

Harris swished a 3 with 36 seconds left in the third to give Iowa State a 61-44 lead.

Utah battled back, shooting 56.3% (9-for-16) from the field in the fourth quarter and cutting the lead to seven on two different occasions.

Big baskets by Crooks and Williams kept the Cyclones well out in front. Utah only cut the lead to six with 9 seconds remaining.

By then, it was too late.
