For the first time in a decade, the Northern Iowa is headed back to the NCAA Tournament. The 6-seed Panthers led by Trey Campbell win four games in a row to claim the MVC title at Arch Madness in St. Louis. Iowa State snaps its two-game skid in a blowout win over ASU. The Cyclones trailed at halftime, but use a 24-0 run to close the regular season with 25 wins and a 5-seed in the Big 12 Tournament. Iowa loses its regular season in a loss at Nebraska. The Hawks will play Maryland or Oregon in the Big Ten Tournament second round. The women get blown out by UCLA in the championship game, but are expected to be a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
