The Iowa Sprint Sports Writers Association (IPSWA) has been on the verge of dissolution, due to a lack of interest in sports writers participation.

Meanwhile, The Iowa Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) who has been a regular part of the proceeding in selecting the state basketball teams in both boys and girls, continues with strong representation.

The IPSWA is now expoloring expanding to include radio and television sports departments, as well as legitimate online sports website media, thus bringing a name change. STAY TUNED !

This past Saturday the ISPWA and IBCA met in Des Moines. The electing media and coaches selected the 2026 all-state girls basketball teams in each of Iowa’s five classes (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A), as well as Miss Basketball.
