PEORIA, Ill. — Tuesday in college baseball Iowa crushed Bradley 21-8. The victory was the 400th win for coach Rick Heller at Iowa.
The Hawkeyes moved to 16-11 on the season with the win, and 6-0 in midweek contests.
Outfielder Joey Nerat recorded two triples, the first Iowa player to do so since Michael Seegers in 2023.
“The offense was great tonight. There were a bunch of quality at-bats up and down the lineup. 10 different guys had hits tonight. Joey Nerat had a huge game with four hits and two triples. Kooper Schulte had three hits and drove in four runs. Miles Risley homered and doubled. Kyle Alivo had a pinch-hit homer,” Heller told Hawkeye Sports. “We took advantage of some free bases in the first to put up five runs. Bradley came right back with five runs in the bottom of the inning. It was impressive to see our guys answer back with seven more in the second. That was big.”
Nerat led the way with four hits in five at-bats with four runs scored. Shortstop Kooper Schulte led the team in RBIs with four, while Miles Risley and Kyle Alivo each homered.
