The NCAA is trying to get its eligibility problem under control. Yahoo Sports first reported on a committee that will look more closely at an age-based standard. In short, there would be a five-year clock for student-athletes to complete. The clock would start on an athlete’s 19th birthday, or high school graduation, whichever comes first. There would be exceptions like military service, religious missions, and maternity leave.
