The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has jumped on board with the Big 10 Conference and the Big 12 in supporting a 24-team College Football Playoff. This will put more pressure on the SEC, which is holding on to the idea of a 16-team playoff.
No change to the current 12-team format can be made until the Big Ten and SEC reach an agreement, as those two conferences hold the majority of decision-making power.
