Iowa women’s basketball has gone international.

The Hawkeyes landed a commitment from Swedish forward Ella Strömdahl, per Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register.

Strömdahl, who will turn 19 in August, stands six feet tall and is a native of Uppsala, Sweden. The 6-foot forward averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game on the RIG Lulea Swedish academy team last season. Strömdahl has played on Sweden’s under-16 and under-18 national teams.

Strömdahl joins five-star signee McKenna Woliczko in the Hawkeyes’ 2026 signing class.

Iowa has also added transfer portal commitments from Georgia guards Dani Carnegie and Jocelyn Faison, Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting, and Knox College point guard Bria Medina.

With Strömdahl and Medina’s commitments on Wednesday, Iowa’s roster is up to 11 players heading into the 2026-27 season. Per Leistikow, the Hawkeyes are likely done adding to the roster at 11 players.
